The news of Boeing's Plans to use investment castings in the structural components of its aircraft if Followed through will mean an increase in business at Precision castparts corp. in Portland Oregon. The Chairman of Boeing Mr. Phil Condit is pushing hard for this to happen as it could result in a 30% savings over traditional construction methods. Since last year Boeing only saw a return of one cent on top of every dollar they invested so pressure is high to save money wherever possible. The major Commercial Airlines have been the driving force in this decision as they have demanded and received price breaks over the last couple of years Mr.Condit himself an Engineer knows his toughest audience to convert will be his own engineers.
